Saturday Cricket

Hi again,

I recently played cricket for my club team. We lost to Peachgrove. Their team batted first and scored 247 runs after 35 overs. Our team scored 175 runs in total including 64 runs from a batsman in our team. This is the fist time anyone in our team has scored a half century (50) this season. I scored 7 runs before I was caught. I bowled Peachgrove’s top scorer (72) out. I was very pleased with myself.

Bye for now,

Gregory

Saturday Cricket

Hi Again,

Answer to previous comment : I play soccer and Squash when the cricket season is finished.

Earlier today I played cricket for my club. We played Southwell in a 35 over match. Southwell has not lost a game this year. Southwell batted first and scored a massive 305 runs. Two of their batsmen scored more than 50 runs! Our team were all out for 91 runs after 29 overs. I scored 11 runs off 44 balls and was in for more than 1 hour. I had the 2nd equal highest score. My batting average this season is 16.00 runs per game. This is because my scores this season have been 4 not out, 17 and 11. This is worked out by adding my scores together (32) and dividing this by the amount of times I’ve got out (2). My team hasn’t got a game next week.

Bye for now, Gregory

School Cricket

Hi again,

Yesterday the 11 of March some students including me went to the Inter Intermediate cricket competition in Hamilton. It is a competition where some Intermediates put a team in of 12 players. This was a 15 over match, this means 80 balls are bowled in total. We played two games of 15 overs and one that was 10 overs because of a short period of rain. When I batted in the first game I scored 2 before I got bowled out. I bowled well in this game but our team still lost. This team was very good. In my team’s second game I caught someone out, It was an easy catch. I also ran 2 people out. I scored 6 runs and I didn’t get out. I enjoyed this game but we still lost. We lost our last game but it was very close. I bowled 1 over, 4 runs, 0 wickets. I didn’t bat but I had great fun in the field.

Bye  for now,

Gregory

Cricket

On Tuesday 12th February 12:30pm New Zealand time I went to watch the Blackcaps play England at Hamilton. This was the 2nd 50 over match in the series between these 2 teams. England batted first and made just over 150 runs. The game had to be shortened to 36 overs because of rain. Because of something called the Duckworth Lewis system which I do not understand The New Zealand Blackcaps needed 168 to win. Brendon McCullum and Jesse Ryder, the opening partnership, hit lots of 4’s and 6’s to win the game in less than 20 overs. (1 over is 6 balls bowled) By for now Gregory!
